Cookies
Tencoline sets one cookie, and only after you sign in. Everything else it keeps in your browser is a setting you chose. This page lists all of it and gives you the switch.
1.Your choice
Declining costs you nothing. Every part of Tencoline works the same either way, and we do not ask again after you have decided.
2.The cookie we cannot do without
One cookie, set only after you sign in. Without it the server cannot tell one signed-in person from another, so there is no consent to ask for: it is strictly necessary under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive and § 25 Abs. 2 TDDDG.
| Name | Purpose | Expires | Settings |
|---|---|---|---|
tcl_sid | Keeps you signed in | 7 days | HttpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax |
HttpOnly means no script on the page can read it, including a script somebody managed to inject. SameSite=Lax means another site cannot make your browser send it.
3.What we keep in your browser, without cookies
These are stored in your browser's local storage. They never reach our server, they hold no identifier, and they exist so the application looks the way you left it.
| Key | What it holds |
|---|---|
tcl-cookie-consent-v1 | Your analytics choice, and when you made it |
app-theme-dark-mode | Light or dark theme |
tencoline_show_marks, tencoline_show_actions, tencoline_show_summary, tencoline_show_tv_score_overlay | Which panels of the video player are open |
tencoline_marks_follow_playhead, tencoline_actions_opponent_mode | How the marks list and the action buttons behave |
Clearing your browser storage removes all of them, including your analytics choice. You will then be asked again.
4.Analytics
No analytics are running on this site today. The application is prepared for Google Analytics 4 and the tag is not installed, so no analytics cookie is set, whatever you choose above.
We keep the choice available because the switch is wired and could be turned on. If it is, this is what it would set, and it would set nothing until you accepted:
| Name | Purpose | Expires | Set by |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Tells one browser from another for visit counts | 2 years | Google Analytics 4 |
_ga_<id> | Keeps the state of a single visit | 2 years | Google Analytics 4 |
We use no advertising cookies, no social network buttons, and no external fonts or scripts from a content delivery network. The fonts and icons are served from this domain, so loading a page tells nobody else that you were here.
5.Global Privacy Control
Some browsers and extensions send a Global Privacy Control signal with every request. It means the person has decided, once, that they do not want their data used for analytics or advertising anywhere.
We honour it. When we receive it, analytics stay off and we do not ask you again. It is read in your browser and never sent to us as a stored value.
We are not receiving the signal from your browser right now.
6.Blocking cookies yourself
Every browser can block or delete cookies, in its privacy settings. Two things follow from that, and neither is a fault.
- Blocking the
tcl_sidcookie makes signing in impossible. The server has no other way to recognise you. - Blocking local storage loses your theme, your panel layout and your analytics choice on every page load.
Questions about any of this go to privacy@tencoline.com. The wider picture is in the privacy policy.
